Exalead is Exalent!

Please do try this at home!
Jot down these steps, or just print this page:
Step 1: Go to Alternative Search Engine Exalead.

Step 2: On the thumbnails that say, “Yellow Pages,” “weather.com,” “Wikipedia,” and ” BBC”, click on the “x” in the top right corner of each one until they’re gone and all that’s left is an empty box.

Step 3: Click on “Add a shortcut.” In the new box, type in the top box www.altsearchengines.com
In the bottom bar type AltSearchEngines.
Click the “Save” button. It should look like this now:

Step 4: Click on “Add more shortcuts.”
Repeat Step 3 using your favorites websites.
Click “Add more shortcuts” again; get 5 more boxes.
Step 5: To save your shortcuts, create an account.
Step 6: Your Exalead homepage should now look like this (well, mine does).

I really don t like at all this feature of Exalead. I think it’s really useless… It makes the webpage heavier without adding a fun or cool or useful feature. If i think Exalead is really a good search engine i think the implementation of this fonctionnality is a real mistake.

I like it. It makes for a nice clean home page for work where I don’t want or need all those gadgets - just quick links to pages I use on a daily basis. Nice and simple. Thanks for writing about it.
