Sproose Launches German Language Edition
Sproose has launched a German language edition of its user powered search model. Sproose provides the methodology “search meets the wisdom of crowds” approach, allowing users to vote up in the search index their favorite sites improving upon machine calculated algorithmic results. Human interaction in search leverages the community to improve upon the search experience.
Since algorithmic results are over-whelmed and “gamed “ with spam and search engine optimization, the Sproose method of human interaction eliminates “in- bound link counting” as the core way to rank, thus improving the results. Combining user votes with social networking, Sproose effectively provides the community with the means to connect, comment and share results with others who have like interests.
“Now we are bringing the Sproose search platform to Germany. It’s our first international expansion since launching the U.S. version in August 2007,” states Bob Pack, CEO. “Sproose is already gaining great traction in the US, so we thought it was a natural fit to launch our site in Germany at this time, of course it certainly helps that our CTO Stefan Groschupf is actually from Halle, Germany, just outside of Berlin.”
Key Sproose features include, user voting for web and video search results, a tool bar for remote voting, a voting icon for webmasters to place on their site and a personal profile page to connect users with similar interests.
