Facebook App Lets You Share Music via Songza
A new Facebook app lets users see what new music their friends are listening to on Songza, the popular music-search & listening site.
Whenever a user adds a song to their Songza playlist, that information is automatically posted in their Facebook mini-feed and profile page; that way, their Facebook friends can immediately see what new music their peers are checking out, and they can listen themselves by just clicking the link in the Facebook post.
Songza’s simple and effective function and design has made it a hit with music listeners, as well as with artists and labels. “We hear from managers, record labels, and artists, all of whom realize that Songza gives them a simple and great vehicle for exposing a wider audience to their music,” explains Robbin. “And the Facebook application is another great tool for making those connections.”

“It’s an easy way for friends to share new musical discoveries and keep up with each other,” Songza president Scott Robbin said. “You just add songs to your playlist, and your friends know right away!” He added that Songza now has RSS feeds available for the site’s top-played songs, Featured Songs list, and each user’s newly added playlist songs. Robbin also hinted that additional Songza-related applications–for use with other social networks, blogs, and various devices–would appear soon. “We’re working on something that will be fun for developers to use, allowing them to easily create more applications that will be useful and beneficial for users in a variety of settings.”
