When are you the searched and not the searcher?

The other day I wrote a post about People Search. The point was that in today’s world, you may be searching for certain people, but unknown to you, someone may be searching for you. You can be both the searcher and the searched at the same time.

This is a concept Job Search engines have had for a while. You can search their site for a good job, but can also post your resume and let recruiters search for you. The searcher and the searched - at the same time.

I decided to show you this new site, launching today, MoneyAisle, because when it comes to “Financial Search,” you would probably think of searching on the Internet for the best CD rate (for example). But with Money Aisle that is reversed. You announce your desired amount and term, and the banks search for you. You actually watch them search until there is one highest bidder - i.e. the bank willing to pay you the highest rate - right now.

What’s next? With Health Search 2.0, you might upload your health information so that if there is news - important news like a recall of one of your meds - you will be contacted. No need for you to search for that drug over and over if a program will continuously search the medical literature for you! Actually, Heathline will do some of that now for its members:

The ultimate formulation of this issue is - when do you want to search for Anything, and when would you rather set your personal parameters and let others search for you and bring the results to you. This is sometimes known as Continuous Search like Allth.at and Swamii. A Google Alert does much the same thing, and RSS feeds and filters are a whole other world.

MoneyAisle is the next-generation online auction marketplace where consumers find great rates on bank CDs and High-Yield Savings accounts, absolutely free. Their methodology is simple: by having banks actively bid against each other in live auctions for each individual consumer request, the customer wins. MoneyAisle’s technology creates a safe, transparent auction, providing consumers with free access to great deals in real time. The results are instantaneous; you are offered the best rate available on our platform in just a couple of minutes.

MoneyAisle differs from other online auction sites, which are seller-centric, by providing buyer-centric auctions to consumers. Many sellers (banks) compete and the buyer ultimately benefits, reversing traditional seller-centric online auction methods, used by sites such as eBay. They also eliminate the buyer’s burden of time-consuming comparison shopping by providing free, live, on-demand auctions, 24/7. In addition, MoneyAisle does not accept any advertising, which keeps them independent of outside advertiser influence. Here is a good intro video: CLICK HERE.

I would welcome your comments. When do you feel that you are the searcher? Are there times when you feel like you are the searched? Are there tools that you use that bring information to you? Please share them with us!
