What is ChaCha?
ChaCha is a free mobile search service that allows you to get answers to any question you might have - right on your mobile device. You can ask just about anything and all your questions are answered by ChaCha Guides.
ChaCha is so simple to use. You simply send a text message containing your question to 242242 (spells ChaCha on your keypad) or call 1-800-2ChaCha and say your question. Your question will be sent to a ChaCha Guide who will research the question and send you a text back with your answer.
Do I get the same Guide every time I ask a question?
No. The ChaCha system is set up so that each question is routed to a trained Guide who is knowledgeable in that particular subject matter. The Guide will research your question and send the answer back to you as soon as possible. The guide will be able to see your previous questions so they will understand if you ask a follow-up question.

I guess this is the mobile iteration of their “Guided Search”. Didn’t they then strike a deal with U of Illinois or something… to partner or provide search services for the site / their students?
